The Laurel Trio was founded in July 2024 with the mission of delivering distinctive and dynamic musical experiences to audiences throughout the Northeast. With its unique instrumentation of two saxophones and piano, the ensemble explores a diverse and compelling repertoire, performing works by renowned composers such as Johannes Brahms, Carter Pann, and Stacy Garrop. Each member of the Trio is a highly accomplished soloist, having earned accolades in regional competitions in their respective instruments prior to forming the ensemble. Dedicated to expanding the boundaries of classical music, the Laurel Trio actively commissions new works and is set to premiere a composition in March 2025. Through these efforts, the Trio seeks to enrich the classical music landscape and foster the creation of innovative, genre-blending repertoire.
